Investment Promotion:
- Contributed significantly to the surge of
foreign investment into Costa Rica, Chihuahua, and Bolivia.
- Generated interest amongst thousands of
foreign investors, and made important contributions as part of the teams that
landed the record and strategic investments of Intel, Abbott, Procter &
Gamble in Costa Rica, Ford, Delphi-GM, and Yazaki in Chihuahua, and key
forestry and textile investors in Bolivia.
- Reported on impacts of INTEL during its 8
years in Costa Rica, based on which MIGA/World Bank published the second case
of this Transnational company’s investment in the country.
- Participated in many research and analyses,
strategic planning and execution in several Investment Promotion Agencies
(IPAs), Free Zones, Industrial parks and business parks (IPIs).
- Participated in the team for MIGA's Africa
Enterprise Benchmarking Program (EBP) in Madagascar, Mali and Senegal for Horticulture, Food & Beverages, Textiles, Apparel, Shared
Services/Call Centers and Tourism.
- Trained and coached IPA personnel on best FDI
attraction practices and techniques in Costa Rica (CINDE) and Dominican Republic (CEI-RD).
- Assisted over 250 foreign companies in
establishing physical operations in Costa Rica, Mexico and Bolivia to manufacture or produce services for export.
- Participated in the teams who recommended
organizational framework for Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) in Costa Rica and Mali.
- Tripled revenues in only 18 months and took
to profitability America Free Zone, the newest Free Zone in Costa Rica, by
designing its strategy and plans, and executing a Marketing-and-Sales
outsourcing contract that landed 3 "anchor clients."
- Established ACT! Contact Management software
and trained FDI attraction personnel of IPAs in Guatemala, Nicaragua and Dominican
Republic on its
use for Investor Tracking.
- Participated in initial FDI team in Baghdad,
Iraq.
- Participated in the initial Investment
Business Plan and National Industrial Park Program in Afghanistan.
- Participated in e-regulation projects for Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia.
Some of the above have been under direct contract of our experts by MIGA/World Bank, US AID and/or larger consulting firms.
Market Access and Export Promotion:
- Lead the strategic planning and introductions for many product and
service in the U.S., Europe, Puerto Rico, Canada, Costa
Rica and Central America, Panama, Venezuela and Chile. Some were for organizations like Procter & Gamble, Hershey´s,
Pillsbury, Green Giant, Duracell, Konica, CINDE, etc.
- Designed and successfully executed several Market Research projects
in the U.S., Canada and Central America.
- Key in the diagnostics, strategic planning, management and business
development of Small and Medium Size (SMEs) companies with results always
beyond expectations.
