Aleyda is a Costa Rican with more than 20 years
experience in international business development, with experience in both public
and private Sectors. She has also been teaching Economics and Negotiation
Skills at the Universidad Autónoma de Centro América (U.A.C.A.) and the Costa
Rican Real Estate Chamber, as well as training Free Zone Park Marketing Teams
in Honduras and Costa Rica.
She designed and implemented key
strategies to attract worldwide investments into Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica for the Manufacturing, Food Processing, Textile-Apparel,
Automotive, Plastic, Services and Tourism Sectors. For a key Honduran Free Zone industrial/business
park, she created the strategy and database of potential investors, as well as
the country’s and park’s key benefits for the target sectors, interacting with
the countries’ Investment Promotion Agencies and industrial parks, as well as
Colliers International Site Selection Division based in Ireland.
She previously worked for the Spanish Developer Group,
DIURSA, as the Commercial Director in Costa Rica, from 2003 to December 2005,
where she had a key role in developing and executing the framework, strategies
and marketing/sales plans for Eurocenter DIURSA Office Center, converting it into
a successful Free Zone Office/Business Park and positioning it as one of the
best options for the foreign investors to start a new operation in Costa
Rica.
She also worked for CINDE (the Costa
Rican Investment Board) as the Special Project Sector Manager and Post
Establishment Department from 2000 to October 2003, where she defined and
implemented the key strategies for Special Project Department to attract
worldwide investments into Costa Rica, for different sub/sectors such as Textile,
Apparel, Tourism, Automotive and Plastic sectors, as well as the Food industry
during this period. She created the data base of potential investment prospects
and attended the information needs and agendas for the investors and help them
established their Manufacturing facilities in Costa Rica. She also defined
and implemented the strategy to attract FDI for a new Tourism Sector within CINDE,
for which she coordinated with the ICT, the Costa Rican Tourism Board, to
evaluate and make the 2002 - 2010 Tourism Investment Plan. She also created documents
with sector benefits and the database of potential investors and attended the
information needs and agendas for the investors. She helped foreign investors to
establish their projects in Costa Rica.
Before, she had work for the Foreign Trade Ministry,
as the General Director (Administrative), where she led strategy design of all
the events for the Pro-tempore Presidency for the FTAA, from January 2007 to
May 2008.
Se
also worked for multinational companies like IBM, as well as for small and
medium size enterprises, developing their business in high technology, software
and diverse services.
